Default Removal of front/upper cowl 98 ZX9

Its been a while so hello to all. Thanks for all the help on my last issue. Everything got taken care of and my bike is running great. I have had my bike a few years now and have finally decided to giveher the cleaning she deserves. I thought i was going to be able to simple remove all the plastics and clean her up a bit. Im down to the front cowling and the manual is a bit vague, at least in my opinion LOL....so anyways i found the wiring harness and diconnected it......now what else is there.....i got the 4 bolts on the headlight assembly......the mirrors are off......does all the intake ductwork some off with it or do i have to remove them first?

On the '94-'97's at least, the ductwork can remain on the bike while you take the front cowl off. The ductwork will unbolt from the airbox, if you're down that far. Unbolt theupper area of the cowl from the bracket that goes down toward the triple tree. There are two screws (again; '94-'97) under the front cowl in the wheel well area that attach the cowl to the ducts. There may also be some turn signal wires attached under the cowl, so be careful. Not much left after that.
Hope this helps a little.
