Realigning Engine w/ Frame On A Ninja
So, I definitely moved too fast doing some work on the bike today and removed all four bolts that lock the engine and frame together. Now I'm on the journey of fixing my issue.
I'm aware that I need the help of a jack and have been using it. I got two bolts back in for now but need to align it better to avoid any further damage from the engine just floating on its own.
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.
Here's a little background:
I was removing old frame sliders that used both bolts from each side.
I got ahead of myself and removed them all at the same time.
I do not have the OEM bolts so now I'm attempting to replace the bolts with the slider brackets for now.
OEM bolts have been ordered; I'll only need the rear ones as the new sliders just require the front bolt from each side.
I'm nervous about causing more damage or breaking something else in the meantime. I'm already at a point where I'm deeper than I'm comfortable with but upon researching I believe I'm on the right path. I know I only have two bolts on the left side replaced, but I'm going to need to loosen them and keep working the jack to get all bolts aligned properly before tightening everything down. I've been doing this by jacking the bike up with my car jack and a piece of wood on it while my girlfriend holds the bike straight. Under the impression that doing it on the kickstand is probably harder.
Any pointers from anyone who's experienced this before or knows how to undo the DA mistake I made would be highly appreciated.
With many thanks,
