Default a question.....

Hello....I'm looking for info on a friends bike that needs some help. Its a 79 zr1100. I know nothing more about it except that he tells me that when he comes off throttle it has white-ish / gray-ish smoke out the pipes. Need to know what might be the cause. Carbs have been cleaned. Thanks for any info on this one.

white smoke: Piston oil ring worn, cyl worn, valve oil seal damage, valve guide worn, cylinder head gaskets are damaged, engine oil level too high.

Welcome to KF

Right on, stay with the tried and true. Check oil level then a leak down test.
