putting a bike on rear swing arm stand???????
hey everyone. well as you could tell from my subject, i don't know or never put a bike up on a rear stand. when i had my katana i mounted a center stand on there. which was pretty cool. cuz i was able to clean the chain pretty much where ever i wanted. and since then, all the other bikes that i had. i did it the old fashoned way. i rolled it. so this is the first bike that i'm putting on the spools/slider on the bike. so what is the best way to get the bike on the rear stand by myself without dropping the bike and breaking anything. thanks everyone
What I usually do is hold the left bar and the rear end, put my right foot on the center stand and PULL!!!! I do keep my kick down just in case but, your bike is probably alot heavier than mine.... Sometimes I do make the hubby pull on the back for me
shon thanks. but i think i didn't make myself clear. i said center stand, but what i ment was. rear swing arm stands. sorry for that. but thanks again shon.
what i do is turn the handle bars to full right, it tends to go on the stand straighter this way...line up the stand under your spools and lift making sure the right spool is in the stand too. I put up my kickstand so its not in the way, just remember to put it back down before lowering it to the ground.
Easy bro;
1- Put down side stand
2- get off bike and position rear stand near back of bike
3- grab left clipon with left hand and rear of seat with right
4- stand bike up to a level position
5- move rt hand to tail and left hand to rear of set, allow bike to rest on your lft hip if needed. Be careful not to push bike past level to the right or bad things can happen. Let the weight always be leaning a little to the left so in case it goes it just hits the side stand.
6- grab rear stand with rt hand and slide into position under rear spools
7- push down on rear stands with right hand all the while keeping bike steady with the left. Once enough weight is on the stand you can let go with the left and just keep pushing down on the stand.
8- its done. Grab a could beer of choice and admire your baby on her new perch.

I have handles on my bike so I can stand up the bike from the back but what I would sugest is remove the back seat and grab a hold of the sub frame.. try it that way..I
