After changing the oil and filter on my vulcan 750, the oil light came on. I rode it around the block, and it seemed ok. I then rode a mile from my home, when I felt the engine getting tight.I can't think of any reason it is not getting oil. Any ideas"

 

I have to ask the obvious but did you refill to the proper level?

 

Do you have the correct oil filter? Some oil filters ahev extra thing for different bikes even if the out looks the same.
