Picked up a 05 ex250 last week for my girl to ride (actually the first kawa in my fleet). Anyways the bike has apparently been sitting since 2006 but only has 4k miles. Did the standard...changed oil, plugs, gas, filters etc. Bike will start and run with choke on but dies when choke is off or when you blip the throttle. I pulled the carbs and one jet needle was clogged. Cleaned em up put everything back together and still the same. What am I missing?

Last owner put the bike down
New battery
Carbs and fuel linescleaned

Carbs are not my thing. I try and stick with FI but this thing is perfect for a 5ft nothing girl. Appreciate any input and glad to be here on KF.

 

It sounds like I have the same problem with my '94 zx-9r. If you here of any suggestions would you pass it along? My problem came on suddenly and got progressively worse quickly. I am checking the fuel pump and checking the vacumme lines. I changed the wires and plugs. The fuel filter and I even looked at the petcock valve to make sure I didn't get bad fuel. The only other thing I can think of would be an emissions problem.
