Hi All,..... Newby here to the site. I have just purchased a 1993 250 EL. This is so I can get my confidence back as haven't riding in 24 years and I'm really enjoying riding again. My bike is missing the left hand side cover and was hoping that someone might be able to tell me where I would be able to purchase another one, either second hand or new. Other wise the bike is in excellent condition and travels very well.
Look foward to reading other peoples comments and hope someone can help me with my issue as I am finding it almost impossible to find the side cover.

Welcome back to riding. Not sure on shipping issues, but cheap cycle parts and bike bandit have been a couple of reliable oem sources.

 

Many thanks for the sites and I will check it out. I have not been able to find this part anywhere, so I will definitly have a look and hopefully I will find it.

 

hmmm, scratch those two sites. BB does not list the EL and the Cheap Cycle parts list shows them as discontinued. p/n: 36010p

Thanks all, I think I found the part at Freedom Cycles, so I have ordered it, but they sent and email say that if they have any trouble with supplying the part that they will let me know,
So fingers crossed they have it as I have been looking for weeks now.

 

Hey Meeke59. I'm the proud owner of a '88 EL250 and was wondering if you have the parallel twin or the short lived V twin version. If it's the parallel twin like mine, don't limit your search to just the 1993. Parts from 1988 on up will fit your bike chassis wise, and most mechanical and electrical parts from the Ninja 250 will fit. Yes finding parts for this bike can be a pain in the ***, but I found out the hard way OEM parts work the best, the first time, all the time. I have ordered OEM parts from eBay that were no where near OEM (clutch cable, seat cover). If you still need the part I'll start making some calls on your behalf and send you email links. Some sites will tell you they are discontinued because they are a 2-4 week ship from Japan (took 3 weeks to get 2 OEM clutch cables) I (and my shop) do get most of my parts from Bike Bandit, but another place to try is Kawasaki Parts Nation http://www.kawasakipartsnation.com/p.../C12C1265F2610 this is the link for the 1988 side covers that seem to be in stock, but pricey. Because of the lack of popularity many parts searches show discontinued even though the same part was used on another Kawasaki model under a slightly different part number, and is still available under the other part number.
