Neutral Light Stays On (Ninja 650R)
I just got my first bike last week and put 150 miles on it. It's still under warranty so I'll have them fix it if it isn't easy, but today all of a sudden while shifting up from 1st to 2nd my neutral light came on, but didn't go out. I rode it about another 50 miles after this happened and it stayed on the entire time through every gear. Also the bike used to only start while in neutral (as a safety feature I'm assuming), but since this problem started I've been able to start it in any gear. Any ideas? I'm assuming something is just stuck or unplugged or whatever, but I have no idea where to look.

It is under warranty, so take it back to your dealer to check it out. I have not heard of a neutral light sticking on all of the time yet, but things happen with switches and needing to be tapped on to unstick them. No big hammers recommended! lol Good luck and congrats on the ride.
I can start my 500 in gear with the clutch pulled in and with the sidestand up. If the sidestand is down, it will die once placed into gear even with the clutch pulled in.

The ER6 is meant to operate just like the ER5. The neutral switch is a fairly important safety factor in stopping you from starting the bike in gear, or with the side stand down.
Get it back to the dealer to get it fixed - might be just a connector has come unplugged.
