Just got myself a 93 ZX-6. When i go into second gear it goes into gear but then sometimes it falls out of gear and into neutral. It will also not seem like it gets into gear all the way, so the bike kinda jerks a few times then falls into neutral. I am pretty positive its not me doing anything wrong. Any ideas what it could be?

 

well I'm not a expert by far.. but it sounds like second gear is shot.. time to take the trany apart and see whats going on.. my bet is 2nd is stripped out


or you could just go from 1st to 3rd every time [8D]

 

I'm an auto mechanic so I'm not 100% on this, the transmission could be different for a bike. But in a car that would usually be caused by a synchronizer or loose shift rail.
