Lowering links!!!

I have a 2017 Ninja 650. I?m 5?7. My feet do not firmly touch the floor flat footed. I do have a majority of my foot placed on the ground however. My question is what are the pros and cons of getting a lowering link? I?ve heard mixed reviews- some say it makes the bike heavier?? Or the bike rides and preforms differently with a lowering link. I would like to know from people who actually have a ninja or lowering link on their bike.
