Hey,

My bike (250cc) completely lost power the other day on the way home. It was running just fine, then as I was merging it wouldn't go above 20mph. It cranks up just fine but will hardly above 20-30mph. I basically can't above 2nd gear and have no 'pick up and go'.

Oh yea, the bike only has 3k and I've had it for over a year.


Has anyone else experienced this or any suggestions on this problem?

 

Welcome to the forums....sorry to hear about your troubles too. Does the bike stall or does it just not want to respond to anything past 20mph?

 

Nope, no stalling. It cranks up fine and rpms respond when I'm in neutral. It kinda makes a deeper noise and has a super hard time going up any sort of incline.

I know it's not bad gas b/c another friend filled up with me. I've heard several other possibilities: sparkplugs, carbs, choke cable, clutch.... Hopefully its something simple like sparkplugs, which I'll change out tomorrow.


Have any other ideas?
