i have a 99 zx6r that i just pulled out of storage and I'm having some issues with it. i have a light sounding clunking sound coming from the trans maybe chipped tooth on a gear not sure maybe due to new sprocket being installed incorrectly,well i have just drained the oil and found a few small bits of metal ? I'm a pretty decent car mechanic not to familiar with smaller bike engines.i currently am dealing to get a motor trans setup for 600 $ but I'm wondering if i should have a motorcycle mechanic look at it it first for a couple hundred or just go ahead with the motor swap myself.

If you are mechanically inclined, than there is no better way to get to know your bike. You may want to get a second opinion if you aren't sure what the problem is though. Good luck!
