2011 KLX 250s. Bike has been sitting for 6-8 months over the winter.
I just replaced the battery because the old one was dead. I then tried starting it for quite a long time yesterday before deciding to dump the gas and replace with fresh fuel. It then started immediately
I looked in the oil window and noticed the oil looks opaque, and a milky brown color.
Coolant isn't totally full, but not low really low either.
I then did an oil change with some 10-40 synthetic blend and let it idle for ~15 minutes. The old oil looked terrible (see below). I'm now noticing some condensation in the oil window. The color in the window might be slightly better now, but its hard to tell with the condensation.
Any idea what has happened? Could this be from the carb flooding from trying to start it for so long?
That looks like emulsified oil, I would suspect the inside of the engine when it has sat idle has condensated quite badly and running it has mixed the water & Oil nicely.
Maybe running a good flushing oil followed by another oil change and some use will get it back somewhere normal.
