KE100 wiring mess
I've been wanting to get my smaller family members riding, and managed the perfect price on a 2000 KE100. It starts and runs like a champ. Super fun on the trails.
I want to get the lights working properly and have been running into issues. The previous owner said he had problems keeping the battery charged, and no wonder- he'd put in a 12v battery and headlight! The rest of the bike seems stock, but I thought I'd check the output from the rectifier to be sure. It's only letting out 0.5Vdc, but the yellow plug going in is pulling 24Vac at idle, and can spike up to 48 at 5k rpm! Clearly the rectifier is toast, but why on earth is the input reading 24v on a 6v bike? Is this normal?
Side question, the Clymer manual for this apparently is a generic for a ton of models, and the only schematic I can find online is for a 70's model KE100. Does anyone know if that manual has the 2000 model KE100 wiring diagram in it?
