Well its me again. The bike doesnt want to start again, but this time i know why. The problem is, i dont know how to fix it. I looked up parts online and i believe it is called a neutral switch. There is a nipple on the housing and a wire plugs into it. Inside is a thin copper plate that moves when the shifter moves. The copper plate is bent. What exactly does that plate do and how would i go about repairing it.

Normally just buy a new switch or I have seen some that were bypassed (It is a safety switch). Not sure how you bent that arm for the switch though.

Any ideas on how to bypass the switch?

nevermind. The switch listed for the KE in my manual is only for the idiot neutral light. It is not a safety.

So is the switch necessary for the operation of the bike. Also, i cant seem to get the screw that holds it on, off.

Page 137 of my manual (KE250 1976 service manual). "The neutral indicator switch, installed in the left cankcase half, consists of a spring loaded pin which contacts a screw head on the left end of the shift drum when the transmission is in neutral."

According to the electrical schematic, it is just for the idiot light that I can tell.

Default ke 100 problems

hi i have a 1995 kawasaki ke 100, ive been having problems getting it to run right. its fine to start but when you go through the gears it bogs out at the top end of the revs. we have changed the piston and rings, condensor and points, checked the rotary valve, cleaned the carb, exhaust, fuel tank, air filter and valves. checked the needle point. but even after all that it is still not running correctly. any idea what could be causing this?
