Installing Universal Slip-on 2003 Z1000
Hi everyone,
I purchased a cheap universal slip-on from Amazon as a temporary fix for my 2003 Z1000 which has a Micron exhaust that is falling apart at the seems. The attachment end (picture attached) seems to have a 38mm-51mm adapter permanently attached, so I'm not entirely sure how to mount it. There are no cuts in exhaust end so it looks like it should just be a tip-to-tip connection and the springs.
So, my question is: Do I just slip this on the end of the existing mid-pipe, use the springs and try to reuse the clamp that's on now?
I know it's a cheap unit, but I just don't like that I can't slip it over the mid-pipe and clamp it properly. I don't want to weld anything because I don't see this as permanent.
Or, if you think this is a really bad idea, any recommended better-suited cheap universal slip-ons?
Thanks in advance
