I'm Stumped
I have a 2001 and 2003 Kawasaki STX 900 jet ski. They are both a WIP. I'm trying to get one working and cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is. Hopefully one of you smart people out there can help me.
On the 2001 I got it running on only 1 cylinder, #3. I can remove the plug wires on cylinders 1 and 2 while running and nothing happens. I remove the plug wire from cylinder 3 and the jet ski stops. Here's what I tried so far:
1. cleaned the carbs - no change
2. Switched the spark plugs around - no change
3. Swapped carbs with the 2003 - no change
4. Swapped the electrical controller box with the 2003 - no change
5. Sprayed starting fluid down 1 and 2 while running - no change
6. Checked the compression: 1 was 90, 2 and 3 were 100 psi
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

PS: I don’t know which cylinder is 1, 2, or 3, but I don’t think it matters as long as I am consistent. I just counted across the top: 1,2,3.
