I need help with a few things on my 02 XZ-7r
It will save you money in the long run to buy the paint yourself, be it from a local paint supplier or an online store. My first color I picked up here in town for 75 bucks and the new color I got online, also 75 bucks. And the price of course is going to be dependent upon what style of paint you are wanting. I'm a fan of flats so that is what i used. Sand your fairings and everything on your own too so that all the shop will have to do is mix your color, and paint it
Well, I just found out that my uncle has a spray gun and has painted before, so really all I need to do is buy the paint, sand the fairings, and have him paint it/teach me how to paint, right?
You will want to spray down primer first too, after sanding. But other then that yea. I painted mine the first time around, it was a real good learning experience. Made a pretty sweet homemade paint booth in the garage too. You should be able to look up lots of different write ups on proper sanding techniques and what not.
i actually used the stuff you get at sears. .the wheels and the polishing compound.. works great!! hand polishing i'd use simichrome or another reputable brand of polish.
ever get that coolant crap sorted? sadly, these bakes are notorious for head gasket problems as well..
