Default Hiccup on Acceleration

Hello All:

New to the website. I have a 2000 ZX-6R with about !8K miles on it. When I accelerate quickly, there is a quick hiccup at about 7,000 RPMs and then it goes away almost instantly to allow me to accelerate at the same rate as before. I have no idea what the problem is - the bike doesn't shut off or anything, just the acceleration rate slows down for an instant. This doesn't happen when I accelerate slowly, only when I open up the throttle quickly.

Any thoughts/help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Default RE: Hiccup on Acceleration

I don't think the bike's been jetted. I bought it a while ago used and the guy never mentioned anything about it. Although since you ask the question I'm not sure. On the left air intake cover there is a switch....I have no idea what it does. I've ridden the bike with it on and off and I couldn't tell any difference.

Again, any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.
