Default GPZ1100 engine problems

Hi!
I am trying to fix my late dads GPZ1100, but I am having some problems.
It runs at idle, but when i try to rev it a little it just stops. I can't get higher than idle RPM. Someone here have any idea how to get it to run smooth again?

Welcome to KF

Fresh gas, clean carbs and a fully charged battery will normally fix issues for a bike that has been sitting. Good luck and enjoy.

Hi!
I have fresh gas, new fuel filter and a new battery. Sometime the DFI light comes on, I suspect an error with it, but I'm not sure. Someone know how to read out the error codes on these bikes? It is a '83 model. I know he parked it because it didn't run, but I don't know what was wrong.
As written before, it makes some strange sounds and then choke when i try to give it some throttle....
