Default Gas Leak - Gas in Oil Pan

Hi Everyone,
2002 Vulcan 500 - Have a gas leak, bike wouldn't stay running thenI noticed a gas leak. I traced the leak to the air filter elemnt where I noticed a gas oil mixture so I checked the oil level which was high so I drained the oil pan and got a gallon + 2 liters of a gassy oily liquid (approx. 7 quarts of fluid) where there should only be 3.6 quarts of oil.....HELP...any ideas on what is causing this?

Sounds like maybe your float bowl level may be off (or a sticking float) causing gas to free flow into your intake manifold, and leaking down into the crankcase. But the petcock valve should shut off the gas flow once you turn off your bike.

After a day or two, pull off the carbs from the intake boots to see if there is gas inside the boots.
