You do not need it if you are comfy with half *** performance. (yes it makes more noise) Same as your beanie question in the forum. (will I enjoy the added noise?) You need a complete package to make you and your enjoyment of riding complete! You do not need a full tune up, but it is a well worth the effort in my opinion. Make it a package deal man, and tune it right because you will be amazed at the performance and the riding experience gained. I can only wish I had your ride to play with, but my latest with a full tune bumped it up 16hp.

i guess ur right, i can keep running on it without the power commander, until i can find and buy one, anyways i will install it on the 25th probably, thats when i get my salary :P il let you know what happens when i install it with and without the power commander. maybe it'l backfire with flames and with the power commander it'l give it less fuel to burn thus no flames?
