Engine Races Help!
I have a 1995 GPZ 1100
I had the carbs off and replaced all 4 float valves, adjusted the floats, and cleaned the carbs.
It wasn't doing this before. Now when I give it a little throttle at idle the engines races to 4000-5500 RPMS and stays there. I checked the cables and the butterfly assembly returns to the closed position but the engines continues to run at 5000 rpms.
I started it without the air boots connected. Will that cause the engine to race so wildly? Or do I have other problems?

Double check your carb to head boots. Sounds like you are not sealing properly. Did you verify the carb synch after the carb rack install?
We had GPZ models in 1995? I need to google that one.
Welcome to KF
edit: did the google. I always think pre '90's for some reason. I learned something new again today. Thanks.
