I am new to rding. Recently bought a used 91 ninja zx7. Just wondering if engine oil is the same as what is used in auto. If it is, what's the weight???

10W40 (I use castrol)

Don't use the energy conserving automotive oil. It has additives that don't work well with your clutch.

Mobil 1 makes some inline 4 oil. There are as many suggestions for oil preferences as there are brands of oil on the shelf! However, you do typically want to stay away from the "Energy Conserving" stuff, like Mark said. I'd suggest a Wix filter; stay away from Fram. A few years ago they had a problem with the paper collapsing (not a good thing at 12K.)

I used the castrol dyno fluid on both of my rides. Break in and track time. 10/40 is a good number to play with.
