clunk

Default clunk

me again my 91 ninja zx 750 is starting to clunk in first and second gear at lower rpm's the bike has 31000km's doesnt make any noise at highway speeds time for a new clutch or tranny perhaps??

maybe as easy as a clutch adjustment? A loose drive chain and worn sprockets will make a clunk in the lower gears as well.

All of my Kaw's have had clunky transmissions. Once your rolling it's fine, but going into first and usually second, theres a clunk. Look at it as making sure its in gear

Same here^. I think Z is right; Kaw's tend to be that way. My '95 9R nearly always clunks 1st gear before it's warmed-up. I wouldn't (and don't) lose sleep over it. If it gets WORSE; i.e. clutch doesn't engage/disengage or makes a gear tooth grinding sound let us know.

They're clunky by nature, but they're also sensitive to correct chain adjustment and lubrication
