Default bnbn

hi guys,

I have a 1996 ZX-6 and am putting a K and N filter in the air box. Is there any need to rejet? Also, did this bike come lean from the factory to meet emissions and if so, how many sizes larger jets should I put in for the mains, and pilots? Also, is there a need to raise the needles when I put the filter in?

Thanks,
Nick

welcome to kf. and you shouldn't have to change anything just for putting the K&N filter on. Not sure about your other questions.

My thought is that it will just generally improve performance by giving more ready access to air for combustion, which is the whole point of a performance filter. You shouldn't need to rejet (although you would need a performance filter if you DID rejet). I don't believe any bike is made stock to run lean as that would make the bike run much hotter.
