Default bad switch in the clutch?

My 2005 zzr (2001 6R) has just started to have a problem starting when the clutch is pulled. It starts fine fromnuetral, but if you pull in the clutch even when it is in nuetral it wont turn over. I imagine this is a problem with a safety switch, I know there is one for the kickstand, and the clutch, but whee is it? And does anyone think this is some other prob.?

Have you played with your clutch cable adjustment lately?

Yeah, I had someone setup my bike for me recently, so it has probably been adjusted. But there were no problems for a month at least after.

It should be a simple test with an ohms meter to find. Find a plug in the wire going from the clutch interlock switch. Then disconnect it and check resistance accross the two prongs on the switch while pulling & releasing the clutch cable. a good test wire kit has wire piercers so you can even just pierce each wire and do the test.

Was not sure on where the switch actually was, and could not find it in the 056r race manual. Most likely at the bar like my 10r is. Definitely check the continuity of the switch to make sure it closes. I would not pierce the wires, just pull them off, check the switch.

the general spec for the starter lockout switch is less than .5 ohms

It's really just a matter open or colsed. And I would only pierce a wire if the plug was impossible to get at. Then just a dab of silicone on the tiny holes.
