I got a problem, I start up the bike w/ the choke just like every other 92 she warms up just fine i take off the choke and it idles just fine but when i give it a little gas it almost sounds like it's choking and then it dies. Just to clairify some details, when it's idling i can shift through all the gears and it's just fine but as soon as i give it gas she's done for. It just started happening out of nowhere it ran perfect the day before so i am really confused. Any ideas?

 

carb clean time... new air filter time... gas removal, clean system and refill time.

do those things and i'd bet it'll run as well or better than it did.

do you have the flat slide carbs or are they the constant velocity with diaphragm style? you may have torn one of the diaphragms... do you do a lot of wheelies?

 

hahahaha im way to scared to do a wheelie just yet, sounds like i have a fun weekend ahead of me, will i need to adjust anything if i get a new air filter?

 

no... but, the symptoms you describe will most likely need more than an airfilter... just in case you are thinking of tossing one in and trying to get lucky... although, you might.

a carb synchronization will also work wonders.

dont forget to check for vacumn leaks also when u put it back together
