86 zx1000 float leaking
hey i think i found my carb problem. the #1 carb float has a hole in it and is about 1/3 full of gas i got the gas out and now i need to seal it any ideas? a new float at bike bandit is 30 bucks. i think this is causing all my problems. any help is appreciated
There is some plastic epoxy you can get at your local auto parts store that should fix your problem. One of the products I know of is called plastic weld. Just make sure it can handle fuel.
I once had the same exact problem and used the same exact solution. It worked for a while, but not for long.
If your float was old/brittle enough to crack or break the first time, it will do it again. It's just a matter of time. The cheap allways comes out expensive in the end. Just bite the bullet and spend the $30, it's woth the peace of mind.
