Lightbulb 2006 klx 110

Bought my son his KLX (used but good) MX bike and done everything I can to reduce speed, clean carbs, air filter, spark plug, oil.....you name it. Since I did not know how the previous owner took care of the bike I felt starting from zero would be best. I have one issue that I can't seem to resolve and that is the throttle assembly. I pull on the cable sleeve near the handle bar and the bike accelerates. Is this normal? I have adjusted the heck out of the cable but can’t seem to get it to where it is not so sensitive. My only thought is to replace it but not sure if it would make a difference anyway. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well maybe the cable is routed wrong? Does it throttle up when you turn the handlebars left or right?

Not all the time but I have noticed that it does throttle up. So I checked the routing but do not see anything that would raise any concern. Still scratching my head....

By the way, are there any aftermarket, more detailed repair manuals for this bike that you know of?

Get the kawi manual. Well worth the extra money.

As mentioned above, get the factory manual. Well worth the correct information.

Normally, cables stretch, stick or break. So routing, lubing and adjusting would also be my first checks as mentioned by BnG68.

Congrats on going through the bike. I too tend to know the bike by going through it. That way you know what is going on with the new ride.

Never know what yer gonna get when you get a new ride from someone else. Some will lie their butt off just to dump their money pit onto someone else. Always a good thing to check it over even if they say they did.
