i have just noticed a kind of rattel or mechanical noise just as the bike starts i first thought it might be the starter but after thinking about it maby the tining chain. i now live in the dominican republic so no such thing as a dealer here. i have to figure this out my self bike has kind of had a rattle for some time i just figured noisey valve train since it has never been adjusted. bike has 25000 miles but i ride it easy because of the problem here of no decent mechanic. any suggestions.thanks mike

Welcome to KF.
No valve checks with that mileage, ouch. No cam chain tensioner adjust I am assuming as well. What about the last oil change? Do you have the manual for your bike? Ask away, but having that manual will surely help you and us on your questions. Thanks

Kaws are a little noisy that way on start-up. Yes; probably the timing chain. Once things get oiled-up and warm, it probably goes away, right? (I hope?)
However, keep listening. If it gets worse or DOESN'T go away, then you may need to investigate.
BTW, welcome to the forums! Gear up; stay safe!
