gotrice, you can do your own chain, but as far as the sprockets go, don't know if you will need any special tool for the front one. Just did my 4k service and the mech said that the 520 chains are good, but they don't last very long. So I'm thinking that I may change out my chain/sprockets when I change my tires just to keep everything nice and fresh. With me working at a dealer, they even said that they will hook me up on installation charges too [8D]

the front sprockets are held on with a good sizes nut.. I think mine was like a 24mm.
If your not using a impact gun you will need to have a way to lock up the rear wheel cause it will trun the wheel with the bike in gear when you try to wrench the nut off.

I should have my set this week. My LBS will do it for me for about $60. (an hour labor) I will have the bike back same day!! I dont mind spending the $$ to know its done right. So total price for everything will be 260. Not to bad. What speedo correction is everyone using? I think i will go with the yellow box.

I have this one on my R1 and it was plug n play. Easy install and easy conversion on there site. Just put in what you had (old sprockets) then enter the new set up and wahla it tells you what the seting are. http://www.speedohealer.com/eng/intro.htm
