Default 07 zx-6r integrated tail light

I searched through the threads before I posted this, and couldn't find anything that was quite like my issue.

I bought my bike last week and the guy told me the rear blinkers don't work for some reason with the old tail light (I later found out it's because that tail light is just that, a tail light) and he had purchased an integrated signal on Ebay, and has no information on it. So with this lack of information, I'm having a hard time installing the light. I'm pretty electrically inclined, I've been an avionics technician for over four years, but there's not a whole lot I can do with the information I have. So here I am asking if anyone maybe knows anything about this type of signal.

The information I do have on it, is from physical inspection of the new light. The only wires that are coming out of the housing of the light are a green wire, a brown wire, and a green wire with a yellow stripe. Now, I know the tail light system itself is a tail light/break light/ground all together because that's what's coming out of the back of the housing on the already installed tail light. So I have three wires for the break/tail system, and I'm assuming there should be two more for the blinker system. There's no brand markings or any identifying information for a manufacturer on the new light.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Not really sure yet on your system, but I would think that the green wire is for the blinkers, the brown for the ground and the g/y for the tail and brake light. ohm out the wires and see what that shows. What does your manual schematic tell ya on the color and route for the wiring?

I've done a little more research, and after a few hours I found that the green wire is the right blinker and the brown wire is the right blinker... Most of the other lights that are wired pretty much this same way say that the other "wire" is actually a "harness" and it'll connect directly to the OEM harness on the bike. My bike has been modded a little bit and the three wires that should be that said "harness" are just soldered to the LED light that's on there now... So now I'm dealing with mods while trying to do a mod so it's a little more difficult. I think I'm just going to attempt to solder those three wires for the tail/brake light to the one wire on the harness and the signal lights to their respective wires on the bike... Hopefully that works!

Lockhart Phillips sells an integrated tail light for the ninjas that are direct plug in. Unplug it and plug in the new one and yer done. Had one on my 05 6r and loved it! Defineately cleaned up the rear!

Mods. Gotta love 'em. If you plan to keep your bike forever, wire as you please. If you plan to sell or swap, keep it as OE as you can so the next owner doesn't buy a voodoo doll to make your life as miserable as you've made his.....
