Which bike would be better..Honestly i want a ZZR but is it scary fast? this will be my first bike but i like weigh like 250 pounds...does that matter? anyway yeah.. i know the 650R has parallel twins. I hate to sound like an idiot here but which bike would be better selection for a first bike. And is the ZZR really that fast?

Not usre about the ZZR but the 650R is pretty nice. It all comes down to knowing your bike and your limitations. Ride within your abilities and you should be fine. Get on something comfortable to you and go from there.

 

ZZR was my first bike...and I'm still alive

 

This was the question I had. I was tossing back and forth between the Ninja 650 and the ZZR600. I went with the ZZR for a number of reasons. It is not a Ninja = cheaper insurance. I also felt it was a lot more comfortable than the Ninja. Go and sit on them both. I wanted a bike that I could spend hours on without killing my back. And, it is just a nicer looking bike IMO. Is is fast.... I believe it does something like 0 - 60 in 1.79 seconds and the 1/4 at around 124. I bought it in November and rode it for about 6 miles around the neighborhood. It is very easy to ride. This is really my first street bike and It will be a long time, if ever, that I will see all the bike has to offer. As BIG O said, it is knowing what your limitations are and what your bike can do.

They can all be "Scary fast,"the squidsout there will tell you that you arent a man if you dont face that fear head on, dont listen to them. Respect the fear, use your head and ride within your limitations and you can be safe on any bike. I say go with the ZZRand take it easy. The 650 just kinda seems out of place and I never really liked the styling, but if you drop the ZZR (and most people drop their first bike) you will have a lot more of the expensive plastics to replace. Let us know what you decide.

 

I like on the vid if you read the comments a guy said his stock ZZR went 170.. lol... the monster mile this year 600's with only bolt on's went 158mph and poweradders went 167mph... maybe i should sell my 07 zx6r and buy an 07 zzr

 

get the zzr, it looks better and there are more aftermarket parts available for it.
