even with getting big air your velocity from falling to the ground is going to generally be under 50mph - sportbike slamming into a taco bell at 120 is pretty much impossible to live through, or the back of a semi, etc.

i did say slightly lower risk of deaht anyways [8D]

Great Post:
I agree with a lot of you, nonervouspassengers, no loaning of my bike, obey speed limits when I have too, no night riding (bad eyes), otherwise let er rip! (not R.I.P). I am up there in years and a speed freak. Iknow a number of roads that I can go as fast as my nerves will allow me too.I have not top out my bike, lets just say it's faster than jumping out a plane to paracute. Track? never done it and costly, especially if I need to rent gear and a bike.My peers? will not ride with me.

It's the worse feeling knowing that your going to wreck vs just happening. If that makes sense. I've hit the ground so many times ( none on the street ..yet ) but either way have good insurance!

5 knee surgerys
1 elbow surgery
A pending shoulder surgey coming up
Apending wrist surgery ( torn ligements )

Cost of a good ride?.....Priceless!

What you're saying is when you are out of control and know there is nothing you can possibly do to save yourself. Hasn't happened with my bikes, but I know what you mean.
