what engine will fit
i have a 2000 zx6r. i was looking at a zx9r same year and it looked like the engine mounts were the same. i'm not sure tough. i would like to go bigger. does anyone know what will fit in my bike?

i don't think so.. but honesty, don't rule it out. before i got my 7-R, i had wanted to swap a 7-R motor into my 6-E ('94) and it really wanted to go in there!! ..lol.. until the top of the head wouldn't fit thru the smaller upper section of the (tapered) frame. it's tapered to accomodate the head on the 600 motor.. theres a difference in width, not so monumantal to where you couldn't massage the frame and MAKE it work, but it's far easier cramming a 9-R motor into a 7-R frame than a 9-R into a 600 frame. the 9 and 7 motors are pretty much identical. slight variances, but one bracket shave and you're golden..
like i said.. you got a BFH or a TIG welder, some 4340 rod and a 3" pneumatic cutoff wheel, hell.. you could fit a ferarri V12 in there.. lol

I believe the top front mount locations are different on the 05 636 engine but can be relocated to make it work. May require cutting & re-welding.
