Default Some debri in oil

Friends,

I just changed my oil after a track day. The bike has 1,400 miles on it and until this weekend it was never ridden hard. I did oil changes at 100 and at 600 (with the first service).

I found some metal shavings (very small) in the oil. Most of it I could see shine but could not feel in my fingers, but there were some I could actually feel. They mostly looked silver but a couple looked gold ... it may be me ... are there anything gold colered mechanical parts?

My dealer says it is ok since I may have done the "final break in". I just want to confirm this. At what point can one say break in is finally done? Asking because I want to go for synthetic oil.

People say at 2,500 .. why?

I wouldnt go to synthetic till atleast 10,000 miles....atleast thats what Ive always heard recomended. Im guessing it was just shavings from the engine fitting together probably.

Probably so TX... After each oil change, you changed the filter also, right.... You don't want ro run synthetic until the rings and all internal parts are seated in.. Some people say 5,000, some 10,000.... I guess it depends on how hard you ride.. If you're all ready trackin her, I would go for around the 5,000 mile mark..

The clutch has some gold color doesn't it.... If you were working your clutch real hard, or riding it, could be it...
