Rebuilding a 82 GPZ550
So my dad has a gpz550 that has been sitting for ~20 years. My first question: would it be worth rebuilding the bike or just buy one that runs? and second What am I looking at money wise?
I have been researching prices and such so far I have come up with this:
Exhaust: $90 - $150 (depending on if I get keker(spelling?) or OEM)
Tires: 200
Chain: $60
Gasket set: $90
Wheel bearings: $20
Carb rebuild kit: $100
Frame power coat: ???
engine rebuild (honing, and other things): ???
engine power coat: ???
Any help would be great.

What I would do is get some nuts, you know, like nuts and bolts. Like 10 of them would work. Make sure you count how many you put in. Pour in some rubbing alcohol and slosh the nuts around. After a few minutes pour our the alcohol. contune to do this until the alcohol comes out clear. The nuts will knock the rust off. The alcohol will dry quickly once your done. I would then put an inline fuel filter in just in case[sm=smiley20.gif]
