Default Quick Muzzy question

Do all the muzzy exhausts only go on1 side? Like the bikes ive seen started with 2, one on each side and when the people put on muzzys they only have 1 side...also the exhaust pipes leading into the bike itself always seem to turn like brown or rusty colored while the canister stays pretty nice. Is that always the case and why does it happen?

The two exhaust pipes are stock. You can get a slip on canisters for the stock header.

Muzzy's are made of stainless steel. It turns a nice caramel color from the heat of the engine.

The older ones used to be regular steel and they rusted.

So Muzzy's enhance performance a lot? Or is it really not much better than stock?

If you put a slip on you won't get much more in performance. A little. You will get a performance increase from any aftermarket pipe when you rejet the carbs or remap the FI. Plus there is weight loss too when you get rid of the factory exhaust. Aftermarket pipes weigh about half or even more of the stock pipes.

How do you know if the muzzy is a slip-on versus a full system that has rejet the carbs to sync them? I don't wanna get suckered into a bike that has a slip on.

Not sure on other rides, but my oem ('90 zx7)exhaust headers show rust and are painted black.
