im just curious how much you average a year...a friend of mine has always had a bike, and sometimes only a bike...imagine riding to work in a hard snow...

That'd be insane!!! I hate driving the car with four studded winter tires in the snow - I can't imagine being on a bike!

I average about 5000-6000mi a year depending if I take a long tour. The 100000mi is starting in 1982 and the acumulation on all my bikes. I usually put 30,000-35,000 mi on my bikes. When I trade them in the dealer always looks at me and says " Those are some miles." Thats why I bought it. To ride not to just sit and stare at (Which I also do )

I baught ZRX in March 04 with 4,500 miles on it and I just popped 15,000 miles on Friday. This is my fourth bike but I can't remember how many miles I put on the other three. The first two bikes I had were my only vehicle and I lived in Miami at the time so it was a lot.

Well I certainly hate bringing this one up but it is getting to be that time for some of us to put our bikes away.

As of right now I have put 2,033 kms on my bike (not bad imo for a first season)

0 this year. No bike. Next season though - watch out.

When I did have my bikes - I was averaging 800 to 1000 miles a week - and yes - I had to put it up for winter. Well - a few times I took it out if the roads were clear.

But THIS looks like it could be interesting...

Funny to see that pic! Last year, my hubby and I went out to visit some buddies at the ice fishing shack and they had cleared off a track on the ice for their dirt bikes, they had studded the tires and decided to go ice racing. Pretty cool to watch!
