Default M1 Baby!

Just went to the DMV and got my CA M1 license about 2 hours ago. I was sweatin' it pretty bad, not to mention it was already about 85 degrees at 10 in the morning. Anyway, I aced it. It was a lot easier than I thought, although I practiced on the course for about a half-hour this weekend. The examiner was pretty impressed when I told him I've only been riding since April 1st 2006.
BTW, taking it on the 250 made it a helluva lot easier than it could've been.

Gear up, ride safe..

Since you took the test with a 499cc or less cc'd bike, you would need to retest again if you planned on riding a 500cc or higher ride in the future.

Congrats though in getting your quals.

Yup, congrats!!

Around here, there are only two licenses...100cc and smaller, and 101cc and bigger...

CA (licensed) riders, is this true? I haven't heard anything about this in California, at the DMV or in my MSF. If so, I will be scheduling another test ASAP.

yes this is true, theres a m1 and a m2 if you got the m1 then your good to go. what endorsement do you have ? i think since you were on a sport bike, they gave you the m1. if you rolled in on a moped or a scooter then youd get a m2.

It's an M1. The evaluator didn't ask if it was a 250 and it's doubtful he knew just by looking, although it's possible.

Thanks for the clarification.
