I had an extended test ride on a 1200 sportster a few months ago. Managed to get in mix of traffic, twisties and highway.

Apart from the weight, the only things I really disliked were the side stand, which needed an extra ankle joint to extend, and the fact that at over 70 the wind force was trying to rip you off the bike, while any changes to the bars or adding a screen would ruin its character. A narrower bar would also make it a lot nicer through twisties, though it'll never compete with any other manufacturer's idea of a sports bike.

The torque and the exhaust noise were wonderful.

It was surprisingly agile.

Rob

Hoedogg, considering the Vrod is about 10+ years newer than my bike, I would HOPE it could spank me. It STILL won't outhandle me, though. Maybe in another 10?
Seriously, I don't have anything against HD's. Whatever floats your boat.

Here's a pic of my last sportbike. Hoedogg had the twin brother at the same time, '05 ZX-10R
