600 mi "first service" is a croc!
Good to know, I just passed 600 miles on my 07 ZX6R and was thinkin of takin it in. I took my last bike in(06 EX500) at 600 miles but I can't remember what exactly they did to it. What kind of service checks should I look for?
My son works at a yamaha shop and does his own maint. to his bike. Just keep the records of everyhting you do to it. I showed him how to make a portfolio on it. He is a porter and get the techs to help him out on his bike. Works at a yamaha dealer and rides a new GSXR600 to work.
I'm at 500 miles and was thinkin about taking my zx6r in for the 600 mile service. If they only do an oil change then i'll do it myself but I thought the dealer told me they needed to adjust the valves, I was also told that i had to keep the revs below 6000 untill this service and i don't want to break my new bike. This is my first new bike and would appreciate any advice on this issue.
you do have to keep the rpms down when you first buy a bike intill the engine wears in a little. I'm sure if you rev it to high it could give you problems down the road. Nothing wronge with giving it a proper break in. I did that with my 06 when i got it.

Take it up to 7 or 8 thousand rpms during the first 20 miles to seat the rings then break it in bythe book. Change the oil at 100, 600, and a thousand miles.
I believe this is the site you are talking about with the breakin info of modern bikes.
