Default Rain-X on FaceShield

Hello,
I have recently bought a smoked-blue-chrome face shield for my full face helmet and realized that it suxs in the rain. on my clear face shield the water would bead and sort of just run of like a car windshield with rain-x on it. so has anyone tried to put rain-x on their face shield? to have the water bead and just run off with the wind while riding?

I haven't tried it, but I have considered it, I don't know any reason why it wouldn't work.

I would like to know myself. I have thought about doing it too, but figured it might ruin my face shield.

My own experience is to NEVER use anything but soap and water on a microfiber cloth to clean my shield. If you ride in the rain that much, try a diver's hard hat.
Seriously, there are a whole lot of products out there which will actually soak into your lexan/polycarbonate shield and really crap them up. Once they soak in, you're screwed.
Use soap and water after every ride (before the bug jerky hardens) and put your helmet in a helmet bag.

I used RainX in the 70s - 80s and it worked great without damaging the shield. After some years without a bike, I noticed the RainX bottle said not to use it on plastic. No idea if they changed the formula or not. Have not tried it since.

tried it once Worked well except on colder days say even 55 degrees my breath would cause the inside to fog, so i put rain x antifog on inside no more problem

i know windex can harm plastic over time and weaken them making them less rock resistant. imo as long as rain-x doesn't cloud up the lense then it shouldn't harm it - its basiclly just alchohal depositing teflon on the lense. the alchohal evaporates away and done.

I love rainX I use it on all kinds of stuff from a Scuba Mask to My Dirtbike Helmet and Ski mask my sun glasses and Mirrors on the inside of my car and outside! I use it on Tv So Dust wont build up! It helps Stop the static charge! It wont Harm anything its like Waxing a car! Use the RainX on the outside and the Anti fog on the inside! You can use it on the gauges on the bike to keep any rain from blocking the view on the gauge! Just dont use it on stuff that will get hot. Workx great on the helmets for offroad keep the mud and water from staying on the mask/helmet.
