What To Do?
Hey I'm new here and need some help, I got a 2020 klx300r and I have a overheating issue at least that what I've found, replaced the impeller, while riding the bike will kill it's self when stopping and not applying gas, but after further looking into it and testing after the bike is warmed up and rode a little I can let it sit at idle and it will start to overheat.
please let me know any ideas thank you in advance

How do you know it's overheating? What "impeller"?
If the fan turns on that's keeping it in the proper heat range, not overheating. It should happen, if it doesn't then there is a problem. Let any liquid cooled engine sit and idle long enough the fan will turn on. Plus if it sits and idles long enough the exhaust will start to glow red, very visible at night. Still not overheating, just that it is normal for a single wall exhaust to do this considering exhaust temperatures are well over 1000° F. No air circulation makes this happen. Ride a block or so and the glow is gone, air is cooling the pipe. The fan will shut off because the air flow is enough to bring coolant temperature down. With twin radiators the KLXs have good cooling and the fan will take care of the heat if you let it sit and idle. No good reason to let it sit there and do that though. I seldom ever let my bikes or car for that matter, sit and idle for more than a minute or so.
As for stopping and the bike shuts off, your engine should be idling around 1200-1250 rpm. Get too low and the compression release may activate (it is a mechanical action) and shut off the engine.
For what it's worth, any engine will heat up and be a hot area. Open the hood on your car sometime after it sits and idles where no air can really get in. Cars will also have the fan turn on if they have electric fan motors. I will tell you I actually cannot remember my 250 having the fan run. I'm sure it may have happened, but can't remember it because it almost never does. My KLX650 would have the fan kick on when I was in extremely slow riding, like turning around on some trail, where I wasn't moving much and definitely moving slow. Happened in slow moving traffic as well.
