EX 500 3 inch drop
2006 ZZR 600 ( also the older model ZX6R ) dog bones can be used on a 1994 EX500 and up to drop the rear a total of 3" .
I can now leave the line at 8,000 rpms with one tooth down up front and two up in the back . I expect 60 foot times to be in
the 1.55 to 1.6 second range . She is fast out of the hole . I will probably get a mid 11 second in the 1/4 mile out of it .
My wife is short 5' 4 " with a 27 " inseam and she is now flat footed . I made my own risers allowing me to drop the front 1"
awhile back . I will post a pic tomorrow but the bike definitely looks mean low and Amber ( my wife ) loves it .
You must cut 1.5" off the side stand and weld a NEW FOOT on with the bike this low. Center stand can still be used but is MUCH more difficult to get up with the bike so low now . I DO RECOMEND it be removed .
Exhaust cans MUST have a 1" DENT OR RECESS done on the back side to clear the AXLE NUT as the supension moves up and down .
Also 1" of PLASTIC FENDER just above the SWING ARM by the shock must be trimmed of so it doesnt contact the arm as it moves up in travel .
Also the new links are aluminum and are half the weight of the STOCK STEEL MODELS . 10.4 ounces for the stock ones and 5.2 ounces
for the new ZZR model ones.
