Default Edge kit light too dim, built my own.

I bought the Edge fender eliminator kit for my bike but was alittle dissappointed by the dim edge led tail light. So I set off to upgrade mine to a higher intensity led light. People take notice when I hit the brake now!

What it looked like before...

I bought this light off Ebay to gut and use to house my high intensity leds...It was also brighter than the Edge light, maybe because its not smoked?

Sorry, The donor lighthead I bought off Ebay has nothing on it and the led and power supplies I put in it are discontinued. I have been trying to find more because this one was meant for my truck, (used to be in my trucks third brake light) I was going to build two more for the tail lights.

I know I'm no help, I've trying to find more for the last year with no luck, I even called the manufacturer with no dice.

Sorry.

Well done, Slip!!! Nice pics and step-by-step. Even if we don't have the exact parts listing, it helps to see the "process." Thanks!

Nice work, the SF model is sharp with the "partial" Edge system.

Thanks guys! I only wish I could help more by simply giving model numbers but the led lighthead has been discontinued and the housing I put it in was one that looked good I found on Ebay. Also took alot of experimenting with the right resistors and relays to make it all work. If it helps the led and power supply is from a Whelen Talon also off of ebay, I used red but if you have a clear (single Talon) one with a red tail light lens it would work. If anyone wants to build one let me know I may be able to help you find the parts.
