All due respect to Evil, but folks, NEVER use furniture polish on your paint. Furniture-specific products have petroleum distillates in them, which keep the carnuba wax in a softened state, and will also deteriorate your paint. I know there are some Pledge fans out there, but I'm telling you; just say no. You're smearing kerosene and mineral spirits on your paint!
There are some great non-abrasive waxes on the market at a wide variety of price points. My personal favorite is Zymol (www.zymol.com) because it's 100% natural oils (coconut, sunflower, etc. plus the wax, just expensive as hell), but the nanowax and NXT products from Meguiars and Eagle One are great products. I also like 3M Perfect-It, for removing cobweb scratches; the stuff is very, very good. If you need to use a "polish," do so sparingly. I agree with BigRig^; be careful with that stuff, especially on new paint.
(Sorry; didn't mean to revive an old thread, but the Pledge thing got me going....)

If you're really **** about detailing your bike, try using a clay product with an appropriate "lube," like a quick detailer spray product (which has a high degree of slick stuff in it to gently remove contaminants.) Spray on the detailer, gently rub the clay compound over it to "pick up" the contaminants, and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Then use a "pre-cleaner" like Mequiars #7 (cheaper than the Zymol pre-cleaner and basically the same.) Then, use the Zymol (I've used their Carbon wax for years.) Your paint will (honest to God) feel "moist," or "thicker" somehow. When you wipe off the Zymol, (use sparingly) the paint will be as smooth and slick and shiny as you could possibly want.
EVEN IF you don't splurge on the Zymol, do the clay and the Meguiars, then use the wax of your choice. (Hell, Turtle wax in a tin, for all I care.) The results will definitely please you.
Believe me, I've searched for the "secret recipe" for years, folks. This is as good as I've found. I have an old 944 Porsche that I've had since college (and that was a LONG time ago.) Using the Zymol on it is right up there with good sex. The same process works on the old ZX9. Look at it in my photo album. If you have questions, CALL me or PM me. If you're a car guy (or gal) I recommend the purchase of a Porter Cable random orbital polisher (with 5" velcro pad attachment.) It will really save your hands and "elbows." You'll still need some microfiber towels to take off the Meguiars and the Zymol, though. (Go to Sam's club and buy the microfiber towels in bulk. You'll thank me later.)

RS, welcome to the forums. The Zymol is not cheap, but it goes on like warm butter and will give your finish a smooth, glowing luster. Just make sure you either clay or use the Meguiars first. Use a micro towel to wipe off. It is the BEST I've found......Welcome again, gear up; stay safe!!

My friend i think to clean and to wax a ride there might be nothing of the thing to be worrying about . Polishing and waxing doesn't harm the ride but it enhances it's fine look . which i think is just great .

Better yet, just skip all the wax and stuff completely. If you want to take care of your paint, just plastidip it so it doesn't even get damaged at all.

Came across some really good polymer paint sealant. Brand name is Wolfgang. Developed by a group of Germans through Palm Beach Motoring Accessories...who have historically been a high quality bunch. Make sure your paint or clearcoat is in good, clean condition. This sealant "wipes-on" with a towel, then you just let it cure. The feel-consistency is real thin, kinda like a light oil or silicone (though they claim it has none in the mix.) I've used it on the ZX, and also on the clearcoat painted wheels on my cars. It really DOES keep the wheels more clean; really provides a slick-ish feel to the paint. A little bit goes a long way; the price really isn't that bad when you look at how far the product goes. Anyway, just tossing it out...
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal 8 oz.

I didn't think that Zymol would be that expensive and then when I looked up the prices... LOL. Stuff does not come cheap at all. I think I'll have to stick with buying Meguirs which isn't too bad anyway..
