When will the posts begin on the 14?
The 08 Connie will be unveiled at the International Bike Show in Maryland this weekend. The TBD specs on it should be available next week. I am first on the list at my local dealer to get one. Anyone interested in a well cared for 05?
Id like to get one of these bikes.... this site is bad.... and thats why i stay away from the dealer.... id like to get one of every kind.... sport, dirt, cruizer, concours.... ahhhhh.....
Well here she is in all her glory! The craftsmanship is wonderful. Took me sometime to find one. Enjoy the pics.[/align]

Hey, Runner .... Glad you saddled up to the new Connie. Congrats, man! I made a special trip to the local dealer to see if they had one. Yep, same/same color as yours.
They just got it in. They let me sling a leg over the bike, too. Felt pretty 'neutral' in configuration. Meaning it didn't seem to have as much forward lean on the grips as my '06 FJR. I liked that. Plus, with like 156 ponies under the seat, it'll be a burner in the twisties. I liked the brake setup, too. But, I'd opt for the ABS version when it's available.
Bike 'felt' bigger than my Feejer, but that could just bea feeling. I like the 6th gear as well. I often look for another gear on my FJR. Having one is certainly an added feature. The bags looked larger than the FJR's, too. Don't know if that is true, but I'm not found of the ribbing on the bags. But, most bags don't make a bike a great 'looker', eh. They look functional ... as most bags do.
The saddle felt a bit tall to me even tho I'm like 6' 2" with 35" inseam. I think one could cut down the OEM saddle and still have a nice relationship with the bars and flat footing the stops. If I got one of these Connies, I think I'd have the saddle redone a bit. Plus, I need a backrest.
The dealer quoted a price for the non-ABS at $12,800 and said that the ABS version that will be out shortly will be about $900 more. Not bad for a rocket ship of a bike.
Seems the latest and greatest iteration of the sport touring segment has Kawa written all over it. Wonder if Mother Honda will upgrade the '08 ST after all this action from Ahamay and Kawa? Then there's the 110 horsie R1200GT BMW, which I personally like from the riding position and farkles, too.
I can't wait for a shoot out in the rags soon.
