New Guy, one of them Canadians
Hi, Driftbuster (Don) here from Canada. I ride H1's at least I did. We're just getting into winter so biking is on the back burner.
I have a few old triples.
My first triple is a 76 KH500 I bought 4 years ago and have been riding for 3 years after a complete
"reconditioning" . It is a dream to ride (in the H1 world). Smooth and quick. It has had the transfer ports opened and new pistons
installed, jetted back up to early H1 power. It is near mint except for a non-stock paint job. I may restore it one day but I doubt
it, I ride em. I see absolutly no sence in a restoration and then just look at it.
I have a sweet "Rat", 74 with all 72 H1B engine and electrics. It has a set of chambers (Wirges), straight bars. It was just a frame I picked up in a deal with a "rebuilt" engine. Well that rebuilt engine is a strong runner, ran it hard all summer and not once did it ever concern me.
My other 500 is a 72 H1B (the orange one) It is in pieces but I will have it ready for spring. The H1B, IMO is the neatest of all the
H1's. It has a lot of H2 influence and even common parts but all H1 when it comes to performance. It has it's own ignition system-3
sets of points. Only year with points and a painted front fender. Part H2, part H1 and a disc brake
My son and I are about 80% thru a total teardown of a 74 S3 triple. This thing was not even worth looking at, so I thought. I got it for free. Now I am in love with it and we have finished the chassis and Bodywork, paint is next. Hope to have it running in new year,
I doubt he'll have money for insurance so maybe I'd better ride it a bit
Bye for now, Driftbuster

Welcome to the forums Driftbuster, we would love to see pics of those classics.
Sounds like a great hobby that you guys share. Good times.

My Mac here at work died, had to get a new drive, 2 year old G5, piece of crap.
Anyway i lost most my H1 files but I found some pics. One of my Rat and one of my son's S3.
The S3 is currently going thru a reconditioning. It is not being restored due to fact "the boy"
can't afford it, this pictures are from before so it is ugly. My sweet 76 KH photo's were all lost.
It's now approaching sled season so the triples have been Winterised and pushed into the corner,
for now
The Rat has a 72 frontend, 74 or 75 frame and body, some 73 parts etc
and the S3, pardon the bungie cords holding on My H1 chambers and the copperwire holding the oil injection wide open. We bought 2 more S3's so we have everything now for a complete bike. Drove to Mid-Ohio from Canada to PU some real sweet pipes a chap sold me beforehand

Remember when bikes were so simple like that and easy to work on?
Now you need a degree to work on all the computer controlled garbage.[&:]

Gotta love those old triples!!! Welcome to the forums, and keep up the good work. I have an old euro-spec H1 (rounded rear fender and a grab bar versus the tail cowl.) Classic bikes, for sure.
Me agian, been busy up in the "Great White North" but I found time to finish my 72 H1B. Still need shocks as the 76H1
are temps. Runs great, got a couple thou on it so far and haven't even changed a plug. This is my fave, points and all
in 72, I guess the early cdi didn't pan out. First year H1 with disc on front, only H1 with painted front fender, points. The
H1B also shares controls, meters with H2. Points may be a little extra work but I hear about lot's of "no spark issues"
or one cylinder acts up. I scored 3 sets of points and condensors for 40 bucks, genuine Kawi to boot. Up hear points
are $33 each (X3 sets) and condensors, $28 X3, deal of a life time. Anyway here is a couple photos of my bike and if
I remember a linc to our triple site up here. I hosted a Vintage Triple's BBQ during the weekend of the Canadian Vintage
Motorcycle Group National Rally, we had 14 triples show up at my place, one guy came 900 miles. A couple good ole
boys from the US of A came up for the weekend as well. Seems I'm the host every year from now on

thanks man, I am really “in Love” with this little beggar, I baby it, but it does RIP.
The hill climber, yes that’s a kawi triple, maybe a 750 judging by
the ignition cover, or a 73 500 as they had the same Iggy as H2.
Hard to tell which one it is.
The H1B’s are starting to gain some ground as a collectable
bike. One sold for 6400 USD’s plus shipping on “Flea Bay”, complete and running but in needed TLC and rechroming. Absurd price, my friend Ian is negotiating with his wife, on one in NY state, 1600 firm, rough, no spark but near complete. Over 2K by the time
he get’s it back to Canada, then a restore on top of that. I’ve been pushing him to buy it
as I live close and could help him get it figured out.
I lucked out with the pipes too on my H1B, JR Power Pipes, sought after bigtime, probably
fetch near a grand, 250 a pipe anyway. Stock mufflers are hard to find for the 72, I have
2 centre, no outters yet. Probably won’t bother as the chambers make it in sight and sound.
